Tenders Are Invited Country project coordinator - benin (full-time consultant) for the west africa youth agrifood innovation challenge 2026
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is launching this Request for Proposals (RFP) and will manage its administration. The objective of this call is to recruit a service provider and a full-time consultant to fill the position of Country Project Coordinator, responsible for the overall coordination and management of the “Youth Agrifood Innovation Challenge 2026” in Senegal. Within this framework, GAIN is seeking solutions to: improve access to and demand for fruits and vegetables, and increase sustainable youth employment in fruit and vegetable value chains in Senegal and West Africa.
Building on the existing Innovation Challenge model, the program will integrate an inclusive and gender-sensitive approach at all stages to ensure equitable participation, inclusive leadership, and shared benefits throughout the food value chain. This initiative will also: highlight the links between healthy eating and athletic performance, host a final event during the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, and position nutritious fruits and vegetables as essential to the health and resilience of young people.
It also offers an opportunity to: promote youth entrepreneurship in the agri-food sector, demonstrate the job creation potential within fruit and vegetable value chains (production, processing, distribution, and marketing), and showcase youth-led innovations across Senegal and West Africa. Through activities such as storytelling, engaging athletes and young innovators, meetings with investors, and targeted communication campaigns, this platform will help raise awareness of the role of youth-led solutions in transforming food systems.
