the government of belize (gobz) has received financing from the caribbean development bank (cdb) in the amount equivalent to one million, two hundred and sixty-four thousand, eight hundred and ninety-six united states dollars (us$1,264,896) towards the cost of the implementation of multi-hazard impact-based forecast and early warning system for the belize watershed project and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds to eligible payments under this contract. payment by cdb will be made only at the request of gobz and upon approval by cdb, and will be subject, in all respects, to the terms and conditions of the grant agreement. the grant agreement prohibits a withdrawal from the grant account for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import, to the knowledge of cdb, is prohibited by a decision of the united nations security council taken under chapter vii of the charter of the united nations. no party other than gobz shall derive any rights from the grant agreement or have any claim to the proceeds of the grant.
the ministry of finance, investment, economic transformation, civil aviation, and e-governance is the executing agency of this project and now wishes to procure consultancy services to conduct a risk and vulnerability assessment for the belize river watershed.
the objective of the consultancy is to provide baseline information on hazard risks and vulnerabilities within the belize river watershed to facilitate the articulation and development of an mh-ibf- ews and inform the development of updated hazard maps. further details can be found in the attached terms of reference (tor). the duration of the assignment is expected to be for a period of 90 professional days over a six-month period. the ministry of finance, investment, economic transformation, civil aviation, and e-governance now invites interested eligible consulting firms to submit expressions of interest (eoi) for the provision of these consultancy services.
