05/01/2026 | The cables used in the SBB cable network have clearly defined quality and functionality characteristics. These are specified and tested as part of a qualification process. Companies wishing to supply SBB must subject their products to this qualification process and meet the specified requirements. This qualification process ensures that the offered products meet SBB's technical and quality requirements and that applicants are assessed uniformly and fairly.
Applications for qualification can be submitted at any time. The certification system and the list of qualified companies are published annually. Once obtained, the qualification is valid for five years.
