Request for Expression of Interest: Hiring of 3 Field Officers
The Government of Belize has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Climate Resilient and Sustainable Agriculture Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
The consulting services (“the Services”) is for a suitable qualified FIELD OFFICERS (3) FOR THE SUGAR INDUSTRY RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE (SIRDI). The Field Officers will work directly under the supervision of the Field Supervisor (IPM) for SIRDI. All work conducted, including reports, will be overseen by Field Supervisor (IPM) for SIRDI and the Climate Resilient & Sustainable Agriculture Project (CRESAP) team.
The GOB has appointed the Belize Social Investment Fund (BSIF) as the implementing agency for the project and the BSIF is seeking to recruit three (3) Field Officers for SIRDI.
The consultancy is expected to be for an initial period of Twenty (20) months commencing August 2025.

The Belize Social Investment Fund now invites eligible individuals (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services (such as cover letter, Curriculum Vitae etc.).
Minimum Mandatory Requirements *(Required) Qualifications
Associate Degree in Agricultural Science or a closely related field; however, a High School Diploma may be considered. (max 15 points)
General Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the agricultural sector. (max 15 points)
*If these minimum requirements are not met, candidates will not be considered for the process*
Additional Requirements (Desirable) Specific Experience
At least two years’ experience in implementing pest & disease management strategies and field protocols. (max 20 points)
At least two years’ experience working with Android Applications, Global Positioning Systems (GPS) or other customized applications for data collection (max 20 points)
At least one-year experience working with farmers in rural communities (max 15 points)
At least one assignment coordinating and conducting training to small groups of farmers (max 15 points)
